About Dissent Club

My name is Courtney, I'm an illustrator living in San Francisco. I've been making cute, kawaii-inspired art at Bored Inc. (www.boredinc.com) for over 20 years.
The night of Trump’s Inauguration, I channeled my frustration into drawing my favorite feminist super-heroine, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I made the drawing into a pin, and sold it on my Bored Inc. webstore. It became immediately apparent to me that the connections I was making with people who ordered this pin were exactly what I had been searching for in my work. A sense of community, a way to express myself and my values, and provide that to others. I continued making more products like this, and Dissent Club was born.
I hope I can provide you with art that helps you feel empowered, connected, and hopeful. I want to introduce you to next favorite heroine with my Sheroes Collection, I want to help you express your values and ideals and spark important conversations, and I want to give back by donating a portion of my sales to places that are important to me, like Planned Parenthood, ACLU, and Everytown for Gun Safety.
Thanks for standing with me, for being so uplifting and encouraging- every order note makes me feel connected and hopeful in a world that can otherwise feel dark and hopeless. Together, we're stronger, and I stand with you in solidarity, hope, and love for the future.
